Why does staying consistent work?

When we talk about exercise, I think people often picture
uncomfortable workouts, sweat-drenched clothes and sore muscles. Social media
often glorifies the “go hard or go home” mentality which can put a lot of people
off before they even start.
Bounce Back Exercise is different. It’s about showing up regularly, even if it’s just doing a short 10-minute stretch or a few bodyweight exercises. That’s why I designed the online programme to include all five classes and resources rather that a pay-as-you go model. Having everything included removes decision fatigue and makes it easier for people to stay committed and consistent.
It is so important to make movement a non-negotiable part of your life but in a sustainable way. With Bounce Back Exercise, you can exercise in the comfort of your home, with the option to adapt the exercises where necessary, keep your camera off if you prefer and leave whenever you need to.
Now, that doesn’t mean our workouts aren’t challenging — some of them definitely are. But each session is carefully designed so members can follow along at their own pace, based on how they’re feeling that day. There’s no pressure to push to the limit every time. The goal is simply to keep moving — gently and consistently.
I have included a few messages I have received from some of our members sharing some of the progress they have made through staying consistent.
“Before Bounce Back I was only able to walk my dog once a day and now I can confidently go out twice. I’ve started playing tennis again (badly) and I’m hoping to get back to hockey next season. I have so much more energy and I’m certainly stronger – 10 kg dead lift, no problem!”
“I wanted to share a small success with you... I am starting the Zoe food thing and as part of the prep, I had to give my height, and I'm back to being 5'7"! In fact I think it's just over! So thank you for motivating me each week to stretch and realign... I think at my most painful and wonky, I was nearly 5'6"... I hadn't realised how much of straightened up...”
I am definitely not always motivated but the Bounce Back online timetable has helped me stay disciplined with my exercise. As I work, I can’t always do the classes at the times they are set but I know what I am meant to be doing each day so ensure I schedule time for one of the recorded sessions. I always feel so good at the end of the session.

Why does this approach work?
- Gentle consistency builds habits – The excitement of a new fitness goal or exercise craze can sometimes drive us to overdo it leading to fatigue, injury or burnout. Bounce Back Exercise helps create habits that are easy to maintain to ensure success.
- It breaks the “All-or Nothing” Trap – many people fall into the mindset that if they can’t do a full 30 or even 60-minute workout, it’s not worth doing anything else. This is absolutely not true. A 10-minute warm up is infinitely better than skipping exercise altogether. Staying consistent helps us reframe progress: some movement is always better than none.
- It’s sustainable – Exercise is not a
temporary change in your life to change rebuild strength, change shape or feel
fitter. It should be a lifelong relationship. Bounce
Back Exercise helps you create a routine that adapts to every season of life.
