4th February is World Cancer Day – a global initiative to raise awareness of cancer and to encourage its prevention, detection and treatment.
This year’s theme being “Close the Care Gap” is about raising awareness to help ensure all people around the world can access high quality cancer care.
To support this year’s World Cancer Day, on Saturday 4th February from 9:00-9:30am I will be running a FREE online exercise class for anyone affected by cancer.
I have been working as cancer rehab specialist for five years now and have seen tremendous progress in the way health care professionals and patients recognise the importance of exercise. There is also a growing number of services that can offer exercise support for these people. However, sadly many people still miss out on exercise support due to a lack of information, guidance or provision.
I look forward to the day when everyone diagnosed with cancer knows they have access to good quality exercise support to suit their needs, preferences and goals.
